Account Development Representative – Shelton, CT

We currently have an opening for an Account Development Representative in our Shelton, Connecticut office.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Convert orders from inbound prospects. Execute order entry, tracking, fulfillment, billing, and territory status. Actively pursue leads via outbound calls to exceed MDR new business goals.
  • Manage all levels of customer care/support to the highest service levels.
  • Sell the full component of MDR’s products & services at or above accountability. Determine and fulfill customer needs.
  • Integrate all actions into CRM to ensure optimal tracking, reporting, and measurement.
  • Represent MDR and its products/services to the education marketplace with a full understanding of product capabilities, applications, pricing, formats, counts, and features & benefits. Understand and remain current with the education market including demographic trends, funding trends, purchasing methods and patterns, and emerging needs. Understand and remain current with database marketing, direct mail, fields sales, inside sales, and emarketing best practices. Have a strong functional knowledge of all MDR Sales systems, including OMS, Siebel, On-Line Ordering, Billing, and Oasis.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports as required by management including: monthly reports, forecasts, and order status reports.
  • Represent MDR in an ethical and professional manner, including compliance with D&B’s Code of Conduct.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience managing customer relations at a high level via phone. Strong outbound selling skills a must. Experience with order entry, customer billing, problem resolution, and order tracking. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sales experience, as well as knowledge of the education market, direct marketing, database marketing, email marketing a plus. Teaching experience also a plus.
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships to exceed revenue goals.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-Mail, Internet, Intranet, etc.
  • College graduate a plus.
